1. Insurance Submission Process

Click the link below to open a new window and submit your insurance information through The Lactation Network (TLN), our contracted partner for insurance-covered services.

  • Standard turnaround time for TLN verification is 2–3 business days.
  • If you need faster processing, you may click the “urgent” button on TLN’s intake form to request 1–2 business day review.

2. Urgent Appointment Needs

If you need to be seen within 24–48 hours:

  • Please book an out-of-pocket appointment from the Lactation Counseling page on our website.
  • At the same time, submit your insurance information with TLN.
  • Once verified, we will continue your care under insurance coverage and aim to pair you with the same IBCLC (pending availability).

3. Telehealth Appointment Details

All lactation counseling appointments through TLN are conducted via telehealth only and are available to clients anywhere within the United States.


4. Insurance Coverage Responsibility

By signing this agreement, you confirm that:

  • You have already contacted your insurance provider to verify coverage for lactation counseling with an IBCLC through TLN.
  • You have reviewed TLN’s list of accepted insurance plans, which is included below and available on our website.
  • The Lactation Network can facilitate covering these appointments with most plans if they are Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Anthem PPO, Cigna PPO, Humana PPO, Sutter Health, and VA CCN (Veterans Affairs Community Care Network) plans as well as most plans that utilize MultiPlan and PNOA. Please note that PNOA and MultiPlan logos will appear alongside other payers on the medical insurance card, like Aetna or UHC. If the card includes the PNOA or MultiPlan logo (on the front or the back of the card, and it is a PPO), we may be able to take them.
  • You understand that TLN approval is not a guarantee of full coverage, and coverage terms such as co-pays or deductibles depend on your specific insurance plan.

5. Administrative Fee Policy

You agree to pay a $50 administrative fee per appointment scheduled under insurance. This fee covers:

  • Scheduling coordination
  • Communication with TLN and your IBCLC
  • Secure documentation support
  • Ongoing platform and support access

Appointment booking links will be sent once your insurance is verified.
These links may only be used for the number of appointments your insurance approves.
For example:

  • If you are approved for 5 appointments, you may only use the link to book 5 times.

6. Privacy Policy & Confidentiality

We are committed to maintaining your privacy. Your personal health and insurance information will never be shared or sold to third parties.

All of our IBCLCs follow strict documentation and privacy practices and are committed to handling your information with care and professionalism in accordance with federal and state laws.


7. Refunds & Cancellations

Fox & Cub Family Wellness does not offer refunds for any insurance-covered lactation counseling appointments.
Once you book, your contact details are shared with your assigned IBCLC.

Each provider follows their own cancellation and rescheduling policy, which will be shared with you directly. Missed appointments may count toward your approved sessions.

Once you have submitted your insurance information, TLN will begin verifying your insurance coverage, and you will hear back from us as soon as they notify us regarding your coverage. In the meantime, if you feel you need to be seen right away, please go back to our website and checkout with the Initial Lactation Counseling package that is out-of-pocket.
